Welcome to the mouth piece for the graphic artist Leinz. When I am not subverting famous icons with spray cans and my devious little mind I like to tell people about my news, views and the latest on my art and it’s easier to post them on here than paint 50ft high letters around London.

Over the last week I have created a selection of new pieces to coincide with the UK General election and for the great project BillBored.org. They have been projecting statement art pieces onto lots of places around london by night including; Tate Modern, Saatchi & Saatchi, City Hall, The Gherkin and last night PARLIAMENT.

My latest piece about the Hung Parliament and the power Clegg holds as third place candidate was loved by BillBored who wanted to end the project with a bang - so they set out on a dark Sunday evening to project this onto the hottest spot in London.

After weeks of tireless campaigning and voting in the Leinz General Election “Personalities not Policies” I am very please to announce the results of who you all voted for. I was not too surprised by the result but it will be interesting to compare the clever little so and so’s who visit my site with the actual results.

Thanks for all those that took part.

The Electoral TV debate has now reached UK politics and it’s popularity is set to make it a future staple of the Election process, are we taking another step towards Personalities not Policies?.

After two of the three television debates already over and with instant polls and numerous thousand tweets on them, a lot of people are being more persuaded by the individual leader and not looking at the party and it’s policies. The majority of the talk has been about who is the most charismatic and engaging on a personal level.

The voters are not being won over by the hard facts and figures of each party but by who they like the most on a non- political level. Alright, we need to like who is in charge, but how they intend to run the country is what we should really be focussing on.

Poor old Labour will ultimately loose a lot of seats with dour and unapproachable Mr Brown, whereas The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats who are more savvy to the impact TV debates and new media can have on opinions are changing tactics to gain more votes.

Is our election process on a dumbed-downward spiral where parties are made almost obsolete by a candidate’s smile and personality?

I read an article yesterday about how search engines have changed and are constantly adapting to give the user what they believe they are searching for and this got me thinking about the whole control of information or mis-information.

With more and more people using the internet as their regular source for news and information. With new technology likely to make us even more web dependent by allowing us to access the internet in new ways from anywhere. Should we be more aware of how this information is searched and delivered to us and who is in control of it?.

Search engines are our main portal to all the lovely free information online, but how many consider the power these companies hold - with a recent Facebook login / Google search issue proving how trusted and unwittingly people search.

If google and all the other big search engines are tailoring their search results to give us specific types of information. They are inadvertently limiting and filtering the information we get.

This has been made more public recently when Google changed its search results in China to censor / remove whole parts of Chinese history to gain a footing in the lucrative Chinese search market.

This is happening at a less obvious level on a day to day basis as search engines alter their search functions to suit  what they believe people are searching for, but is this also effecting what we are searching for…? Potentially ending in a Orwellian Big Brother scenario where all information and news we received is controlled by search engines.

Check out the latest issue of Who’s Jack magazine for a recent interview.

Who’s Jack…
“The artist who has turned Boris Johnson into a clown and Barack Obama into a saint talks to Ruthie Holloway about creating art to raise political and social awareness, giving it away for free and the black clouds of celebrity and money.”

With the 2010 general election soon to be upon us and the propaganda machine already in full motion, it seems this election is even more about personality than policies. Is there any way of telling the main parties apart or have they all just merged into one even less distinguishable blur.

For all those that have been following my Twitter you will have seen some of my updates and pictures of Frank as he progressed from original blank white elephant to his finished glory. Over the three weeks that I spent in the Elephant & Castle Shopping centre painting, spraying and sticking stuff to him I kept a photo/video diary which you can view in it’s entirety below - it’s 7minutes long so stick with it but 3 weeks is a long time to fit into a tiny video:
